A 16/15 with a set of hammers a tuning wrench and a padded gig bag starts at £1,300. Stands start at £130 for a seated or standing stand.

Hammered Mbira
Here is some information about the Mbira I make, please go to my website MbiraHeaven.com for more details. A 12 rod single bridge Mbira with a Sapele soundboard comes with a simple padded bag and a set of hammers.
Soprano 12 rod Mbira, approximate size 400mm x 320mm and 23mm between rods.
The 13/12 Crossover Mbira comes with a Sapele soundboard, a quality padded gig bag and a set of hammers.
Crossover 13/12 Mbira, approximately 750mm x 440mm and 28mm between rods.

Double sided Hammers
My Double sided hammers and all hand made and balanced to within 0.1 of a gram As a player I am aware how important it is to get that balance right.
I make them with Cherry shafts and Iroko or Maple handles which a nice light feeling, or Maple shaft with Iroko handles which are a little heaver. I occasionally have other woods available, contact me if you wish to discuss. The hammers are £45 in the UK, plus delivery and $50 plus local postage in the USA, available through Mary Lynn Michal. Stands
I make scissor stands suitable for sitting and playing. I make them in softwood, but can make them in any wood you desire, just contact me with your request and I will see what I can do. Prices start at £130 plus delivery.
They are simple and lightweight, no point having a light dulcimer and a heavy stand.
Pick Ups.
I can supply and fit Shatten HD4 or Pick Up the World dulcimer pickups. The Shatten are great as a visible attached pickup and I find the PUTW pickups are great for retro fitting.
Here is recent feedback regarding my supply and fit service:
Peter retro fitted a ‘Pick up the World’ pick up to my Dusty Strings D550 in July 2023. Until then I had struggled to hear myself playing in sessions and the dulcimer was simply a background noise when I listen to recordings of the band playing acoustically. I think the sound reproduction is excellent across the whole range of the instrument. The pickups are inside the dulcimer and out of sight. The jack socket is underneath the instrument and well out of the way. I use a small, battery powered amplifier which sits under the stand or behind me if the session is a particularly loud one. When playing in larger venues the sound engineer has simply plugged the dulcimer directly into the sound desk. The sound was clean, loud and there was no problem with feedback.
Peter’s craftsmanship and his attention to detail is outstanding. I would thoroughly recommend him.
